Sim card is not from Verizon Wireless

October 01, 2017 — Nalioth

Any of you guys gotten the Verizon Prepaid Motorola E4 and seen this message after GSM unlocking and installing an AT&T or T-Mobile SIM card? It will not go away, no matter how you swipe it?

I've got the solution, but . . .

. . . as there is a danger of bricking your device any time you enable "special menu options".

Read this page before doing anything to your phone: How to Manage, Customize, and Block Notifications in Android Nougat - HowToGeek

Got it all read? Good.

The part you want is where you enable the "System UI Tuner" ( again, this is a highly experimental feature ).

Once the System UI Tuner is enabled, you'll have a new entry in your settings menu.
You want to find & click into the System UI Tuner settings
Click "other"
Enable the "Power Notification Controls".

Now, back out of everything ( you want to be at the home screen ).
Swipe down from the top to expose the "Sim card not from Verizon Wireless" notification and press AND HOLD the notification.
You should see an extended menu pop into being that looks similar to this:

Use your finger and drag the dot as far to the left as you can. This'll set the notifications of that "Sim card ain't Verizon" nonsense to "don't bother me no mo'"

Enjoy your phone :)
